Full-Time, Permanent Position

Whitecap Dakota First Nation


The Whitecap Dakota First Nation requires the services of a Home Health Aide. This is a full-time, permanent position. The successful candidate will provide assistance as set out in the Client Care Plan and will be assigned and supervised by the Community Health Nurse.

Major responsibilities and accountabilities include but are not limited to: Attend to the personal care needs of the clients; provide household management assistance; provide assistance with meal planning and preparation; promote independence of the client/family; and maintain accurate records to ensure proper documentation and reporting on the provision of care.


  • Graduate of the Special/Continuing Care training program or equivalent is preferred;
  • CPR & First Aid certification an asset;
  • Ability in caring for the elderly and disabled;
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality;
  • Ability to work well with others;
  • Knowledge of computers an asset;
  • Previous experience working with First Nation communities would be an asset;
  • Knowledge of the Dakota language, culture, values and Elders protocols would be an asset; and
  • Must provide a recent Criminal Record Check (CPIC) and possess a Valid Driver’s License with access to a reliable vehicle.
