Program Description

The survivor support program facilitates the development of a support system to empower the claimants to become prepared to appear at their court hearings. Included in the program will be seminars and services which meet the members’ individual needs. The goal is primarily to provide effective holistic strength to the survivors prior to, during and after the ADR and litigation processes.

Program Overview

The Indian Residential School Resolution Health Support Program provides, support, guidance, referrals to former IRS students and their families.

Program Vision

To fully support Indian Residential School (IRS) survivors emotionally, and to assist with their needs towards healing.

  • Professional Supports
  • Professional Counselors will assist individuals to find new ways of healing from Indian Residential School experiences
  • Emotional Support
  • A Support Worker will guide former students through all phases of the settlement agreement process
  • Cultural Support
  • Supports including dialogue, ceremonies, prayers, or traditional healing may be provided
