THE POSITION

Under the supervision of and reporting directly to the Director of Education and as a member of the STC Structural Readiness Educational Alliance team, the Financial Consultant(s) is responsible for providing leadership in the establishment of a financial policy framework for the development of a First Nations Education Co-Governance Model.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Research and analyze complex educational systems and provide advice and recommendations regarding educational finance toward system development.
  2. Calculate and construct a Co-Governance Funding Model.
  3. Ongoing communication with Education Governance Team, Education Unit, and Member Communities; including regular reports with supervisors.
  4. Facilitate collaborative processes for financial capacity development and implementation.
  5. Create all of the necessary documentation to support the ongoing management of financial information program including policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS & CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

  1. Financial consultant requires familiarity with relevant legislation and industry standards.
  2. Knowledge of provincial and federal funding framework and processes; and the ability to provide financial advice and guidance to the Director of Education and others within the Educational Alliance.
  3. Strong background in education financial development and administration.
  4. Excellent project management skills.
  5. Experience in developing and implementing policies and procedures from scratch.
  6. Strong oral, written and technical communication skills.
