Master Rigging Training

Program Overview 

This three-day Master Rigger Program is designed to enhance the skills and knowledge of riggers. Interactive, problem-solving workshops are followed by hands-on activities such as: Rigging Gear Inspection, Load Control, Load Turning, Jacking & Rolling, Load Weight Estimation, Load Moving Procedures, Inclined Planes, Rigging Blocks & Winch Systems, Sling Tension, Multiple Hitch Systems, Chain Fall Load Drifting, Multiple Crane Lifts, and Spreader Lifts.

**This course is not designed for labourers or low year apprentices. You should have some previous crane/loading operations and/or extensive experience in the Industrial Construction**

 Participants completing the program will receive a Certificate of Completion.

Opportunities

To graduate from each level of the apprenticeship program, an apprentice must successfully complete the required technical training and compile enough on-the-job experience total of at least 1500 hours each year. Total trade time required is 3000 hours and at least 2 years in the trade. There are two levels of technical training delivered by the Western Trade Training Institute in various locations around the province, Employment opportunities as a master rigger are available in the industrial construction areas.

Entrance Requirements

  • Applicants must be First Nations
  • Registered with STC Employment & Training Services
  • Must reside within the Saskatoon Tribal Council Urban and Rural contribution areas
  • Must meet the program requirements
  • Must be able to pass Drug & Alcohol test
