Urban Labour Force Development


Description of Program

The objective of the Labour Force Development program is to provide the necessary planning, training and support to individuals for the purpose of obtaining sustainable employment. This program is made possible through the Federal Government Aboriginal Human Resources Development Strategy.

Specific Services Available

Currently the STC Urban Labour Force Development Strategy encompasses the following six (6) Labour market programs:

  • Career Training programs
  • Academic Preparation Programs
  • Employment Programs
  • Mobility Programs
  • Employment Service Programs
  • Disability Programs

Program criteria including age group served

First Nation and Inuit residents of Saskatoon, regardless of their place of origin and must be status under the Indian Act. Must be legally entitle to work according to the relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations. Youth: Unemployed and between the ages of 15 – 30 years.
