Tribal Chief Mark Arcand receives Badge Award

On May 5th, 2022, Tribal Chief Mark Arcand received the 2021 Restorative Action Program and Rotary Club of Saskatoon Badge Award. Saskatoon Police Chief Troy Cooper presented this award as part of the annual Saskatoon Police Service Exemplary Service Awards Banquet.

COVID restrictions in 2021 delayed this award presentation. Chief Cooper offered his congratulations on Tribal Chief Arcand receiving this award and thanked him for his dedication to the Saskatoon Police Service and our community.

About the 2021 Badge Award

The Badge Award is given to community members who have provided invaluable assistance to the Saskatoon Police Service. As Tribal Chief, he has made significant contributions to the City of Saskatoon in terms of reconciliation and community health. The Tribal Chief’s work not only improves the lives of people who live here, but it greatly assists with the work of the Saskatoon Police Service (SPS).

The service would also like to recognize the Tribal Chief for his efforts to prioritize frontline members of the Saskatoon Police Service for the COVID-19 vaccine. Despite the pressures he faced regarding the vaccine, Tribal Chief’s actions provided safety and relief when SPS officers were facing an incredible amount of stress due to the pandemic.
